New Payee Security Measure
Additional security measures have been introduced following unusual online activity. No member accounts, data or funds were compromised.
Our digital services provider recently identified unusual automated activity affecting certain public-facing website and mobile app features. Importantly, there has been no unauthorised access to member accounts, member data or member funds.
New Payee Security Measure
As part of the enhanced security controls being introduced, members creating a new external payee through Online Banking or the Mobile App may be asked to complete additional verification checks before the payee can be used. This extra step is designed to help protect members against fraud, phishing attempts and unauthorised payment requests.
For most members, the process will be straightforward:
- Enter the new payee details as normal.
- Complete any additional verification steps requested.
- Once validated, the payee can be used for future payments in the normal way.
These additional controls are being introduced to strengthen protection against fraud while maintaining a secure and convenient digital banking experience.
We encourage all members to remain vigilant and be cautious of unexpected emails, text messages or phone calls requesting personal or financial information. If you receive any communication that appears suspicious, please contact the Credit Union directly for assistance.
We thank members for their patience and understanding while these additional safeguards are being implemented and remain committed to protecting your accounts and personal information.
Yours sincerely,
TUI Credit Union
